Why it matters

What changes for your team.

Property management calls don't stop at 5 PM, and they rarely come in one at a time. EPG Connect Phone is built around who's working, which team a call belongs to, and what happens when nobody can pick up.

01 · Fewer missed calls

Team calls find someone who's working

A call to Maintenance or Leasing rings the people on that team who are available right now, one at a time, in the order you set. People who are on break, in a meeting or off the clock are skipped.

02 · After hours

Callers get help at 2 AM

The AI Receptionist answers when the office is closed, sends real emergencies to whoever is on call, and takes a message for everything else.

03 · Context

Know who's calling before you answer

When the AI Receptionist puts a call through, it passes on the caller's name and the reason for the call. Your staff hear "Renee Alvarez, lease renewal", not just a number.

04 · Voicemail

Voicemail you can read

Every message is typed out and emailed to the right team or person. Each weekday at 8 AM, a single email lists every voicemail nobody has listened to yet.

05 · Texting

One texting inbox per team

Texts to a business number go to that team's shared inbox. Someone claims the conversation, so two people never answer the same text.

06 · Oversight

Managers see what's happening

A call log, reports by team and person, AI summaries of every call, and a Monday email with the calls worth a second look.

Every feature

Everything in EPG Connect Phone.

All of this is available today in the web phone and the iPhone app.

Calls and routing

  • A direct line for everyone. It rings their browser and iPhone at the same time, and calls they make show that number.
  • Team lines ring one person at a time, in your order: 15 seconds each by default, with callers waiting up to 5 minutes before voicemail.
  • Teams don't need their own phone number. Your main line and the AI Receptionist can send calls to any team.
  • Work hours for each person, plus "take calls anyway until midnight". Team hours can be set too.
  • Work cells. Calls can ring a company cell. The person hears who's calling and presses 1 to accept, so the cell's own voicemail never takes the call.
  • US and Canada calling.

During a call

  • Hold with music. Resume rings only the device that put the caller on hold.
  • Transfer to a person or a whole team, with a note for whoever picks up.
  • Keypad for menus and extensions.
  • Notes during or after a call, with recent notes shown when that caller rings again.
  • Pick your microphone and speaker, with a level meter to check them.

Status and teamwork

  • Statuses: Available, On break, In a meeting, Do not disturb, Out of office and Off the clock, plus "On a call" and "Off hours", which are set for you.
  • Do not disturb, Out of office and Off the clock stop your direct line from ringing.
  • Team board showing who's free, refreshed every few seconds.
  • @mentions in notes alert the person in the app, in Microsoft Teams and in EPG Connect OS.
  • A "Needs your attention" list with one-click call back.

Voicemail

  • Messages up to 2 minutes, typed out for you.
  • Each team and each person has their own voicemail.
  • Email to the team or person with the message and its text, plus a card in Microsoft Teams.
  • 8 AM digest on weekdays listing every voicemail nobody has listened to yet.

Recording and summaries

  • Every call is recorded. People who call in hear a recording notice, and hear it again when placed on hold.
  • AI summary of every answered call over 10 seconds, ready about a minute after hang-up.
  • Calls the AI Receptionist handled on its own show as "Handled by AI", not as missed.
  • Monday review email with calls worth a second look: upset callers, long waits, missed emergencies, voicemails not called back and missed calls.

Reports, search and admin

  • Reports: totals, by team, by person, busiest hours and who was rung, with a CSV download.
  • Report access is set per person: everything, their own teams, or none.
  • Search calls, voicemails and texts from the last 31 days.
  • Admin in three tabs: Teams and lines, People, and Alerts and emails.
  • Microsoft Teams alerts for voicemails, missed team calls, after-hours emergencies and @mentions, posted to each team's private channel.
  • Your logo and colours in the app, if you want them.
Included · AI Receptionist

Your main number, answered every time.

The AI Receptionist answers your main line, day and night. It says up front that it's an automated assistant, and it only shares information your company has approved, like office hours, how to pay rent and what counts as an emergency.

It sends each caller to the right team or person, and passes on their name and the reason for the call. If it can't help, it takes a message or connects the caller to a person.

Example conversation

Main line · Sunday 2:14 AM
AI ReceptionistThank you for calling. This is the AI receptionist, an automated assistant. How can I help you tonight?
CallerThere's water coming through the bathroom ceiling at Lighthouse Cottage, and it's spreading.
AI ReceptionistThat's an emergency. I'm connecting you with our maintenance team now. Please stay on the line.
→ address matched to a vacation rental, so it goes to Short-term maintenance → on-call work cell rings with "Emergency: spreading leak, Lighthouse Cottage" → alert posted in the team's Microsoft Teams channel
By name

Ask for a person, reach them

A caller who asks for someone by name is put straight through. If that person doesn't answer, the caller reaches their own voicemail.

By property

Repairs go to the right team

Repair calls are routed by the property's address, so a vacation rental goes to your short-term maintenance team.

Emergencies

Your definition of urgent

Maintenance emergencies are put through at once, and after hours they can ring an on-call cell. For fire, gas or injury, it tells the caller to hang up and dial 911.

Spanish

English or Spanish

Callers press 2 to continue in Spanish.

Limits

No advice, no promises

It never gives legal or financial advice, makes promises about rent or leases, or takes card numbers. Those go to a person.

Backup

A person if anything goes wrong

If the AI ever has trouble, the call goes straight to the team you choose, so a caller is never stuck.

Included · Team texting

One texting inbox per team.

Texts to a business number go to a shared inbox for that team. Anyone on the team can read and reply, claim a conversation so nobody doubles up, add a note for colleagues, and mark it done.

EPG Connect Phone keeps track of who has agreed to receive texts. A reply of STOP, REVOKE or OPT OUT takes effect the moment it arrives, and nothing goes out overnight.

Consent

Permission comes first

Texts only go to people who have agreed to receive them. Someone who texts you first can get a reply.

Quiet hours

Nothing sent overnight

From 9 PM to 8 AM, no texts go out, so nobody is woken up by your office.

Missed calls

A text after a missed call

Switch it on for a line, and callers nobody could answer get a short text so they can reply in writing.

Registered

Registered with the carriers

Business texting is registered with the mobile carriers, the way US carriers require for company numbers.

How it works

What happens when someone calls.

  1. The call is answered

The AI Receptionist picks up the main line, says it's an automated assistant and asks how it can help. Direct lines skip this and ring the person.

  2. It's sent to the right place

A person by name, a team by the reason for the call, or the on-call cell if it's an emergency after hours.

  3. The right people ring

Computer and iPhone ring together. Team calls go to whoever is working, one at a time, in your order.

  4. Nobody free? Voicemail

The caller leaves a message. It's typed out and emailed, and missed team calls post an alert in Microsoft Teams.

  5. After the call

The recording, an AI summary and any notes are on the call log within about a minute.

  6. Every Monday

Managers get an email with the week's calls worth a second look.

On its own, or with EPG Connect OS

Two ways to run it.

EPG Connect Phone runs today as a module of EPG Connect OS. When we open to other companies in 2027, we plan to offer it on its own as well, for teams that want to start with the phone system.

How it runs today

With EPG Connect OS

  • One sign-in and one staff list for every app.
  • Teams match your EPG Connect OS departments, so people only see their own department's calls and texts.
  • Calls, texts and contacts are kept in EPG Connect OS alongside your other records.
  • @mentions show up in EPG Connect OS's alerts as well as the phone app.
Planned for 2027

On its own

  • The full phone system, AI Receptionist and team texting, without the rest of EPG Connect OS.
  • Its own sign-in and staff list.
  • Add EPG Connect OS, or other modules, later on.
The iPhone app

Your office phone, in your pocket.

The iPhone app rings like a normal iPhone call, even when the app is closed or the phone has been sitting untouched overnight. Calls, texts and voicemail are in the same place as on the computer.

In a call

Everything from the desk

Mute, speaker, keypad, hold, transfer and notes.

Alerts

Never miss a follow-up

Alerts for new texts, voicemails and @mentions.

One app

Sign and Calendar too

Tabs for EPG Connect Sign and EPG Connect Calendar sit next to Calls and Texts.

911

Your real location

Dialling 911 hands the call to the iPhone's own phone, so responders get where you actually are.

The Android app is in development. Until then, the web phone works in any modern browser.

Trust and compliance

The rules are built in.

Calls and texts come with rules about consent, recording and emergencies. EPG Connect Phone follows them so your team doesn't have to remember them.

Honest AI

It always says it's an AI

The AI Receptionist tells every caller it's an automated assistant in its first sentence.

Texting consent

STOP always works

Consent is recorded for every number. STOP, REVOKE and OPT OUT take effect the moment they arrive, and the history is never edited after the fact.

Recording notice

Callers are told

People who call in hear that the call is recorded, and hear it again if they're placed on hold.

911

Emergency calls handled carefully

911 from the web phone in the office sends the office's registered address, and a named contact gets a text and an email. Away from the office, the iPhone app hands 911 to your own phone.

Department access

Each team sees its own calls

Calls, voicemails and texts belong to a team. People see the teams they're part of, and nothing else.

Sign-in

Codes instead of passwords

Staff sign in with a code sent to their work email. There's no public sign-up; people join only when you add them.

In development for EPG Connect Phone.

Questions

About EPG Connect Phone.

Can we keep our phone numbers?

Yes. Your numbers move over from your current provider. While that happens, a temporary number lets your team test with real calls.

Do we need desk phones?

No. Everyone uses the web phone in their browser and the iPhone app. Desk phones are in development for front desks that want a handset.

Can calls ring my company cell phone?

Yes. Calls can ring a work cell as well as the app. You'll hear who's calling and press 1 to take the call, so the cell's own voicemail never picks up by mistake.

Does the AI Receptionist pretend to be a person?

Never. It says it's an automated assistant in its first sentence, only shares what you've approved, and passes the caller to a person whenever it can't help.

What if the AI can't help?

It takes a message or puts the caller through to a person. If the AI itself ever has trouble, the call goes straight to the team you choose.

Are calls recorded?

Yes, every call. People who call in hear a recording notice first. Recording rules differ from state to state, so check what yours requires.

Does it work on Android?

The web phone works in any modern browser, on a computer or an Android phone. The iPhone app is live, and the Android app is in development.

Can we use it without EPG Connect OS?

Not today. It runs as a module of EPG Connect OS. We plan to offer it on its own as well when we open to other companies in 2027.

Can my company sign up today?

Not yet. EPG Connect is running in our own office while we finish it. We're opening it to other property management companies in 2027.

Already using EPG Connect Phone?

Sign in with your work email. On an iPhone? Use the EPG Connect Phone app from the TestFlight invite sent to your work email.
